More About Coach Kelly
My background includes playing in high school, club at WC Eagles, and playing at the division II level. During my high school and club years I coached girls in field hockey and lacrosse at the elementary (beginner) level and middle (intermediate) level. Then when I went on to college and after graduation I coached field hockey to girls ranging from all levels. Previously I coached field hockey at Neumann University and now coach for Newberry College.
I started my field hockey career at a local recreation league in my community and then went to play for my school in middle school and high school. While in high school I started playing club hockey and indoor field hockey for WC Eagles. Then after graduation I went to play at Slippery Rock University (division II).
All sessions will start with a proper warm-up. The first session with me would start out with basic skills and learning where the athletes skills are. I do this so that the athlete gets the most out of the lesson. I do not want to have a too easy session for athletes or a session that is too difficult. Then after the baseline is made skill session and proper technique will follow. Every session will end with a "trick time" and a proper cool down.

coach Kelly has helped me improve on my game immensely. After each session I left with a little bit more skill than I showed up with. She helped me gain confidence in myself and also made me a whole new player. Kelly hit on every point of field hockey that I needed to work on, I am a defender so we worked on running the ball out of the circle, stick skills to get the ball to my mids, and free hits. We worked on offense also because as you know in field hockey although you have a set position you play offense and defense regardless. Kelly made my transition from high school to college so much easier and I was a lot more prepared than the other freshmen that I was up against.
