More About Coach Karsten
I have been coaching group and individual sessions for over 10 years, and have coached at all levels from 4 year olds to current Division 1 collegiate athletes to current professionals, as well as players looking to become professional. I have also worked year round for for the past 11 years for the world renowned program called Coerver, whose mission is to "Develop Skilled, Confident, and Creative players."
As a player that has made it to the professionals, I know what it takes to make it to the next level. I played Division 1 soccer at the University of Denver where I helped lead my team to the Final Four, and also had back-to-back undefeated seasons in my last two years (which hasn't been done in over 30 years at the D1 level). I have also played professionally in the USL Championship at Real Monarchs (Real Salt Lake's reserve team) where we won the league title, the Colorado Springs Switchbacks (Colorado Rapids' reserve team), as well as FC Tucson. At the MLS level I have trained with the Colorado Rapids for several years, and have attended preseason with Real Salt Lake as well. I have trained with many players on several national teams including the US, and spend off seasons training with players from Colorado Rapids, Sporting KC, Montreal Impact, Real Salt Lake, Orlando City, Seattle Sounders, Minnesota United, Chicago Fire, as well as several women from the US National Team.
I always cater my sessions to the client's interests and desired areas of improvement, but I am able to train for all aspects of the game whether it is defending, 1v1's/moves, crossing, shooting, passing, etc. Most of my sessions will include a quick warm up, short technical work, 2-3 specific drills based on the client, followed by a short cool down and closing exercises.
