I am a NASM Certified personal trainer and have been coaching for over ten years. I work with all age groups and fitness levels. Most of my coaching experience has come from coaching athletes in the sport of Volleyball at the high school, club and collegiate levels, but I also coach individuals in personal fitness and athletic performance.

I played volleyball for two years at Solano Community College and then played for three years at Sacramento State. While playing in both high school and college I made Second Team All League. When it comes to fitness, I have successfully designed fitness programs for family, friends and the athletes I work with weekly.

In the first session I would ask about their specific goals and when they wanted to reach those goals. I would then assess the client by conducting assessments (squat assessment, pushing and pulling assessment, agility and flexibility) to see see the areas of weakness. Once I the assessment in complete I would design the program based on what I observed and the goal the client provided. For example a one month program would proceed as follows: 5 - 10 min of warm-up including stretching and light cardio. Next we would do 15-30 min of cardio depending on the physical condition of the individual and their goals. Stability and balance training would follow with one leg balancing, plank holds, hopping onto boxes, etc. And then strength training with weights, medicine balls and machines if available. To end the workout we would cool down with some light cardio and stretching. Every four weeks I would increase the difficulty of the workout until we reached the individual's goal. I make sure to keep in constant communication with whom ever I work with to make sure we stay on track and that nothing has changed for the individual. For athletes I focus on performance and conditioning. I create a program to prepare them for their upcoming season and to keep them healthy throughout their season. The exercises are based on the movements they would be doing in their sport, i.e agility training for volleyball and basketball.

Coach Karlynn is a thoughtful and responsive coach. I like that she is understated and meets the athlete where they are as she keeps up with their drive to excel. Coach Karlynn assesses the athlete at the initial session. Coach pays attention to the capacity of the athlete and tests their willingness to push to the next level. No reflection on Coach Karlynn, but I am disappointed that when you search for coaches, Coach Up has her buried in their feed as they typically promote others. You have to make a few attempts to find her, or search her by name. I hope that Coach Up provide a more equitable way for newcomers and established customers to access her information. Coach Karlynn has a excellent skill set that she draws from, providing on-point technical and conditioning advice.
