More About Coach Kamal

I have been coaching and training athletes for speed and agility for the past 12 years. I have trained young athletes from the age of 5 up to high school and beyond. I currently coach middle school and high school athletes in football, basketball and track. I am Coachup certified, CPR and first aid certified and I have the basic certifications for all of the above mentioned sports.

I competed in football, track and basketball in high school. I was on the varsity team in track my freshman year in high and was a two-time state finalist. I competed in Division I track & field at Columbia University in New York City. Our cross country team was nationally ranked. As a coach I have multiple division and district championships.

I begin with a basic training regimen that involves speed ladders, speed hurdles and cones. I will be able to assess the level of skill that an athlete possesses, and from that point I will personalize their training to meet their athletic goals.
Upon arrival the athlete will go or a light jog to get the blood flowing. After that, we proceed to a thorough stretching routine to loosen up those muscles. After that we head to the cones for acceleration/deceleration drills. Then, we move to the speed ladder and test agility with a multitude of varying exercises. If time permits, there will be basic explosion drills and more cone work. We will end with a cool down lap and more stretching.

Coach Kamal was great. He immediately identified areas to focus on with my son after just a few exercises. He took the time to explain the focus of the drills so that it was clear not only how to do the drills, but exactly what the purpose of the drill was. We have already scheduled several more sessions because I think his approach and these work outs will benefit my son throughout high school.
