One on One Training:
The benefits to One-on-One basketball training are plentiful. First, having a personal basketball trainer means all the attention of the trainer during a training session is on you, unlike during team training, your trainer can stop and explain drills in detail. Second, training sessions are tailored to your personal skill level and training goals. Our trainers can assess your fitness level and basketball skill, and provide drills and exercises to help you progress. And third, having a personal trainer allows you to ask questions to develop your understanding of game fundamentals and specific game situations an aspect that seems to be overlooked in team or group training sessions.
Group Training:
Will help players develop a competitive nature by working with and against players of the same skill level. We will perform drills that will help players determine the current level that they are compared to those in the group with them. Group training also allows opportunity to implement offensive and defensive drills at a high competitive pace: 1-1, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 and of course the usual 5-5. Drills to help with building aspects of the game such as; aggressive defense, help-side defense, offensive ball movement, game situation experience and team chemistry.
Strength Training
Skill Development will offer a basketball specific strength training program that will improve every aspect of your game like:
• Acceleration and speed on the court.
• Range of shots and passes.
• Explosive power - in particular your vertical jump.
Each training period we will emphasize what each player’s goal will be as far as strength training. For example, during Pre-Season you will want to Maximal Strength (force that a muscle group can exert in a single, momentary contraction) later converting into Muscular Power (a combination of both absolute strength and speed of movement) in late Pre-Season. While doing In-Season we want to continue maintaining that Muscular Power and Post-Season building Functional Strength.
Speed and Agility Training:
Including an agility and quickness training program will help improve the player’s ability to change direction north, south, east, and west. Increasing your player’s start and stopping agility and perform other basketball specific skills with speed and dexterity. Plyometric training has been shown to be one of the most effective methods for improving explosive power. Players can benefit from power training, particularly if it follows or corresponds with a strength training program. Plyometric training has been shown to be one of the most effective methods for improving explosive power. So we will also include a few plyometric drills and workouts within the training sessions and programs.
