With over 13 years of professional 1-on-1 experience, I have coached hundreds of clients to their desired goals. Everyone from the weekend warrior to serious athletes to the novice fitness enthusiast have benefited from working with me and my customized program design. Whether your goal is to lose weight, add muscle or increase athletic performance, I will design a personalized and progressive program to help you reach your goals.

After 8 years of having successfully coached hundreds of clients to their goals, my achievements with my clientele helped launch my career as a fitness manager and coach to other personal trainers. I opened a 50,000 square foot state-of-the-art fitness facility, where I hired and trained 20+ personal trainers. Training other trainers on how to help their clients reach their fitness goals became a secondary passion for me. I want to help as many people as possible establish change in their lives, and that means helping other trainers with their clients. I now own and operate a private studio in Wakefield, MA.

To start an accurate and personalized program, I take all new clients through a comprehensive postural assessment and movement screening. There we identify any underlying movement pattern distortions that need to be corrected through the program. Strength tests and starting measurements are taken to accurately track progress through the program. From there, we look at what the client's typical nutritional intake is and start adjusting their nutrition to better help them reach their goals. All clients leave with 14 sample menus, daily food checklists, sample grocery lists, cardiovascular routines and stretching charts.

Julian has played a massive role in the vast improvement I'm seeing in my strength and fitness as a competitive runner. I came to Julian with a serious hamstring injury and he has managed to not just complement. but enhance and expedite my recovery and rehab process. Instead of throwing on the weights, Julian help me start a healthy strength regime by having me return to basic, core balance and stabilization movements on two feet. He was always respectful of my doctor's suggestions or orders, and he never schedule sessions with me if he thought it would compromise my overall health (if I was overtired, etc.)

From there, over the course of several months, he has helped me progress through endurance focused workouts now into performance focused workouts. I knew Julian was a personal trainer thru conversations that we had. At the time i was heavily in to yoga which was satisfying enough mentally but it just wasn't giving me the results i wanted physically. Long story short, i made the conscious decision to seek Julians expertise and join steven cabral studios. Who knew if would be one of the best decisions i ever made. It all began with a consultation and a lot a stuff about nutrition. I'm a tall lean dude with some back and knee issues looking to add muscle and tone. At the time i had the misconception that all i needed was a six week program and i'd be looking like Arnold. My point being, Julian taught me that it's a process and to a large degree a lifestyle change. I actually needed to loose weight by eating healthier and then gain a bunch of weight back in the way of muscle. Oh - and most importantly Julian also has a great understanding of the human body and how to incorporate physical therapy in to ones workout regime. I've been with Julian over 1 year now and I can't imagine life without Julian. This is coming from someone that thought they would never be that "workout" guy. Julian - you've totally changed my life... I eat better, I look better, I feel better!
Julian has been a great trainer and coach--helping me lose 20 pounds in about 8 weeks, as well as hitting my target body fat percent. I first started training with Julian in early 2010. I had never taken my health very seriously, and at the age of 36, it was becoming increasingly more clear that it was time to do so. By knowing more about the what I put in my body, exercising properly, and maximizing my energy during my workouts I was able to modify my lifestyle in a manner that felt effortless. Having a trainer who is as dedicated to my success as I am has been incredible. His approach, combined with the vibe of the studio, has made this a very personal experience and has changed my life for the better. I'm still learning, and still motivated, and looking forward to keeping it all going.
