More About Coach Joseph

I am going into my 12th year as a high school baseball coach, mostly as a Head JV and Varsity Assistant. I recently became the head baseball coach at Spruce HS in Dallas. I have worked with 14-18 year olds mostly but would more than willing to work and provide lessons for anyone who wants to learn the game, from age 4-5 and up. I have an undying passion for the game and feel its very important to teach kids the fundamentals of the game: from perfecting an ideal swing, to becoming a better base runner, or working on fielding and arm strength. Teaching baseball IQ and mental aspects of the game are also important in developing a players mentality and awareness.

Won Long Ball contest at age 11 (Longview, Tx). Several time All-Star selection in Longview and Sherman. Played high school baseball in Sherman, Tx. Worked full time throughout college as self-provider and full time student. Have been an avid learner of the game for 30 years now, and have been coaching at the high school level since 2003.

Depending on what a client is seeking to improve: I work one on one in developing a proper swing, breaking it down thoroughly and showing through giving visuals and examples. I talk about common mistakes or flaws in a hitters swing and how to avoid them. Emphasis on hands, use of entire body, and focus on head placement. If working on fielding and throwing, I would begin with basic throwing techniques, footwork, fielding drills, and how to properly put it all together as an infielder or outfielder.

Coach B is the real deal!!! He was great with Drew and was very approachable and knows baseball. Drew learned exactly where he needed correction and coach took a lot of time going through exactly what drills he needed to work on and was hands in going through all of the mechanics with him. Drew was encouraged and ready to do the work because coach took a great positive approach with his teaching. He is worth every penny and then some.

My son is new to baseball. Coach Joseph was very patient and really connected with him on a level that was easy for him to understand. During his instruction, he was very knowledgeable of the skills and techniques he was demonstrating. I definitely will use him again!

Great coach who focuses on helping you get better, picks out the mistakes you do & helps you to improve them. First session was a good practice.
