More About Coach Jordan
I have extensive experience coaching soccer players ranging in age from 5 to 18, and I've worked with athletes of all different skill levels and backgrounds. Whether a player is just starting out or striving to reach the highest level of competition possible, I tailor my coaching to meet their unique goals and needs.
I completed a one-year internship at AthElite Performance in Scott Township PA, where I trained soccer players and other athletes through on field agility and technical skill development sessions, as well as strength and conditioning sessions in the gym.
I hold a bachelors degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition and Dietetics, giving me a strong foundation in all aspects of athletic performance and overall health. My academic background and hands on coaching experience equip me to help athletes improve not just in soccer, but in their physical fitness, confidence, and overall long-term goals they have for themselves.
I've been passionate about soccer since I was 4 years old, starting with local park and recreation leagues and eventually progressing to two travel teams and a competitive club team during high school. I earned a spot on varsity as a freshman and was honored with All Area and All Quinnipiac division first team selections.
I went on to compete at the collegiate level for Marywood University, an NCAA division 3 program. While I faced a major setback due to an ankle injury and subsequent surgery, I worked hard through rehab and returned to finish my college career strong and healthy.
Currently I play semi-professional soccer in the UPSL-my highest level of competition to date- and continue to push myself as a player with aspirations to keep advancing in the sport. This active pursuit of my own goals helps me relate deeply to the athletes I train. I understand the challenges and triumphs of the journey, and I bring that perspective into every session, both as a trainer and a role model.
Before planning any session I take the time to understand the athlete's individual goals, current skill level, and mindset towards the game. Each session starts with a dynamic warm-up to prepare the body and mind. This takes around ten minutes. This is then followed by a progression of drills tailored toward the player's needs and objectives.
If a client doesn't have anything specific they want to focus on, I begin with a well-rounded evaluation session that touches on all areas of the game like technical ability, decision making, movement, and fitness. This helps me identify strengths and areas of improvement so I can create more focused and effective plans moving forward.
In typical lessons, I select 3 to 5 drills based on one or two core skills we're working on whether it's ball control, passing, shooting, footwork, agility, tactical awareness (etc.). Each drill runs for about 10 to 20 minutes depending on the goal and intensity. I value variety and progression, so sessions are always engaging and designed to build on each other over time. Lastly, sessions always end with a 5 minute minimum cool down where we stretch, relax, and discuss the goals of that session.
My approach is adaptable, goal driven, and rooted in helping athletes grow with purpose whether they are just starting out or striving to compete at the next level.
