More About Coach Jordan
I have been coaching since the age of 16. I am approaching 10 years of coaching, which is insane! I have coached from kindergarten to college (3 years at the collegiate level) and I am a basketball director for a club program.
In all my years of coaching I have been able to help players improve time and time again. Further, I not only help their skills develop as a player, but find ways to help them improve mentally as well.
I was recruited to play at a small Division-II school called North Greenville University in South Carolina during the 2014-2015 season. I was recognized as a guard mostly for my shooting ability but also the ability to read the floor and overall IQ. I played in many types of offenses including motion, flex, and even the triangle but my most recent and most efficient offensive system I played in was the read and react. We took our conference tournament by storm and were named the Conference Carolina champions during the 2014-2015 season. It was the first time our school had won our conference since joining the NCAA Division-II. I played many years of AAU in high level tournaments against great talent. The summer into my freshman year we were the runner-up team in the national tournament here in Fort Wayne. I also played one year at the community college I now coach for. I have won a few three point shooting contests, most improved and best teammate at camps, school leagues and AAU tournaments.
I am very much a "high energy" coach. I'm constantly cheering and yelling (positively) for your player during his workout. There are no lulls during my workout sessions. Being an excellent shooter during my player career I have a number of great shooting drills and wisdom to give that will increase your athletes shot percentage drastically. Also, because as a guard I know a number of ball-handling drills, footwork routines and conditioning drills that will bring your player from being one-dimensional, to multi-dimensional. Which ALL coaches (high school-college) desire in their players. Owning to my experience as a player and coach, I know several drills and methods to increase bigs efficiency as well on the offensive end. It all starts with footwork!
I always start out with a drill I call "quick release." I have the player stand at the volleyball line in front of the rim ready in a shooting position (low, hands up showing their "pocket.") Next, I have them shoot 10 free throws. I do this because your shooting motion in the game will reflect your fundamentals in these two drills. Depending on the player, I will go through a variety of shooting drills (spot up, on the move) I also have an agility ladder to increase their footwork. I am a very detailed oriented coach, and will go through basic fundamentals until I feel the athlete has extraordinary fundamental ability. Being an expert on fundamentals can take a ball player from being average to great, and from great to extraordinary.

Micah (CoachUp client)
Jordan is a great coach and has helped my son improve his game. He genuinely cares about his players and that is important to us. He has helped my son perfect his shot and step it up on defense. The private instruction is definitely worth it.
Jill (CoachUp client)
I cannot say enough about Coach Jordan. He has really given our son the extra skills he needed to grow as a player, and has boosted his confidence & performance, exponentially. Jordan's coaching style, personality, attitude and methods of positive reinforcement have been a perfect fit as a private coach. Definitely time & money well spent.
Jorge (CoachUp client)
Coach Jordan was great with my son he learned a lot in just two sessions and it helped him with his technique and confidence . He was patient and we really had a good time with him and we highly recommend him thank you so much.
Parent (Testimonial)
Coach Jordan has really helped our son to grow from a timid player, to a scrappy strong and increasingly intelligent ball player. He has helped our son greatly on his shooting, he now shoots 20% better from the free throw line, and shoots almost 30% better from the field. He has helped our son out tremendously and now have his high school coaches very interested in him.
Ron Lewis/ Head Coach (Testimonial)
You add a great element to this team... I appreciate your attention to detail, wonderful job!...I trust your input and basketball knowledge.
Parent (Testimonial)
My son has grown a great deal just in the one summer with Coach Kerner. I'm not sure how seriously the high school coaches were looking at my son before, but since his workouts with Coach I have received several emails from them expressing their encouragement and excitement for his place in the program. I believe that Coach has been much to credit for this.
Player (Testimonial)
I have been extremely appreciative of coach. All summer he has stayed tough on me and made sure I always gave 100% to every drill, practice and game. Coach expects and drills for perfection, but supports you through all your hiccups and faults as a player. He never makes you feel lesser, but excited to learn more and get better.
