More About Coach Jordan
As long as i have been playing baseball i have always deemed myself to be a player coach. I would assist in teammate needs, and answer any questions. I have been giving pitching and baseball lessons for about 2 years now. I currently help with the pitching staff at Our Lady of the Lake University, where i have been learning and growing as a pitching mentor for all ages.
I have coached at all ages starting from 5 to post college athletes trying to make it into independent ball. I typically work with middle school to high school kids, but am willing to work with any age group as long as the individual is willing to work hard. I am working on a certification in sports nutrition and exercise science, but i have worked in the nutrition and athletic field for 6 years, so my knowledge and personal experience is what leverages my teachings.
In high school i was a 4 year Letterman at Taft High School, where i was all conference 2 times, 2 times all city, and was runner up San Antonio player of the year in 2013.
In college i was a 4 year starter, compiling over 400 innings pitched, over 350 strikeouts, with a sub 3 era. I was 4 time all conference player at OLLU. Post senior year i was offered some independent ball contracts. Currently i am in the midst of training myself for 3 invited workouts with MLB organizations in january.
Our first meeting will typically start with a screening test which will give me the information needed to understand where the player is at currently. I will ask and find out what it is they feel they need most improvement on. I will take a video so i can make a video analysis of bio mechanics, as well as determine nutrition and exercise goals.
Each session following will be revolved around a strictly scheduled regimen regarding throwing program, arm care, bio mechanic questions, and mentally fine tuning.
Each player will have constant contact with me at any point with questions that way when the session does come along i will already have a plan of action to answer them.
I plan on teaching the players not just about the game, but about themselves and that they to can push to accomplish their goals.
