More About Coach Jordan

I have worked with a wide range of athletes, some just beginning their careers at age 6, some fine-tuning their skills at the collegiate level, and many enjoying the process in between.

My coaching experience started with me coaching younger teams within my travel organization when I was 15. Since then, I have given private instruction and lead clinics while playing in college, and I assistant coached the UCSD Softball team for the 2015-2016 season.

I have three years of experience as a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness, working with clients of all levels. I am a certified personal trainer with a specialization in Performance Enhancement and Fitness Nutrition, and have a US Olympic Committee certification in Olympic Lifting. Using these certifications, I have worked with clients one on one as well as in group classes, and have earned the title of Master Trainer.

Because of the wide range of experiences I have had coaching, I do not have a typical age group that I work with.

I played 4 years at the Division II level for Chowan University in North Carolina. As the starting catcher my senior year, I was selected for the all conference tournament team.

I take a wholistic approach to coaching, and focus on 3 main areas:

1) Mechanics
The most fundamental part of the game is mechanics. It is important that your athlete is confident in her abilities, so the bulk of our session with be spent doing drill work that is chosen to specifically meet your athletes needs. Equipment will be provided and note/video taking is encouraged.

2) Underlying Motor Learning
As a master trainer, I understand the importance of muscle recruitment, conditioning, and mobility, and the role they play in taking your athlete to the next level. I will incorporate movements tailored to your athletes current mechanics that will allow her to get into ideal positioning and open new doors of possibility. One common example of this is a core stabilization exercise to help prevent collapsing the back shoulder in a swing.

3) Mental Resiliency
Softball is a game of competition, and as such, it is the mentally tough player who comes out on top. Mental training has been paramount in my own performance, and will be incorporated throughout our sessions. I have found that practicing mental resiliency skills allows players to learn from mistakes while maintaining positive self-image, and I want that to be the case for your athlete!

Each session will be tailored according to your athletes needs, and will typically include the following:
-Review the previous session
-Drill work
-Live work
-Mental training
-Conditioning if desired
-Hypervolt massage prep/recovery as needed

Please warm up prior to our session if possible, as this will give us more time together!

Jordan did an excellent job with our daughter. She was friendly, knowledgeable and we cannot wait to work with her again.

Jordan is great with my daughter. She has only had a couple lessons, but has learned a lot.

Great job thank you very much looking forward to next training

My granddaughter has made progress towards her goal since we began lessons with Coach Jordan. My granddaughter does not like going to practices but does like her our session with Coach Jordan. She has a way about her and building my granddaughter's confidence which is exactly what we needed

My daughter is in high school and has played soccer since age 5. This summer she decided she wanted to try her hand at softball and be a multi-sport athlete. Being able to have her train with Coach Jordan is amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better coach for her to be paired with.

Coach Jordan breaks everything down mechanically so the athlete can really understand and put into practice proper technique, which is super critical for someone who is just starting out. With having a teenager it’s also really great to see her super excited about lessons and to hear her tell me after a session, “Mom, Coach Jordan is awesome! I‘m really excited about this!”

End point: Coach Jordan is not only highly recommend by a parent but most importantly.....by the athlete!

Coach Jordan isn't just your usual coach - she is a dedicated athlete and a comprehensive trainer, incorporating either on site implementation or discussion of conditioning, strengthening, recovery and sports psychology into her sessions. Going from the macro to the micro, she breaks down the components of movements to precision detail to achieve the maximum outcome. Beyond her skill set her enthusiasm is infectious. After just one session I was decided that I wanted to sign on for the long term, as I knew that I would gain continual benefit from her coaching.
