More About Coach Jon
My name is Jon Leroux. I have trained kids from ages 7-18. I currently coach high school Football, Basketball, and Baseball at Tantasqua regional high school. I prefer to work with kids from 10-18 but would work with younger kids if need be. I can work with many different positions including catching, hitting, fielding, as well as pitching.
I just got done playing with in the New York Mets minor league system. I played 4 years for them. I was drafted in the 32nd round out of Northeastern University after my junior year where I had a scholarship. I was 1st team all CAA my junior year as a catcher. I also won a Massachusetts state championship in high school in 2009. I was a T&G super team in High school both my junior and senior year. In the minors I played every position but SS and CF.
First I would like to get to know the clients goals and what he or she wants to get out of our sessions. Does the client truly want to work hard or not. Depending on the age and ability of the client I will give them basic or advanced drills to do during the session. I would like to assess them starting with T work to see where their skills are at and where maybe I can make adjustments in their swing. I would then move to short/front toss to start to see the timing of their swing and if I can help with adjustments to that. Then I would go into BP (depending on ability) and also off speed training (depending on age). After hitting I would like to take the client to their preferred position (outfield, infield, or catcher) and again see where they are in terms of ability. I would take them through a few ability/skill drills breaking down the positions into the most minute details. My goal would try to get them really good at one thing before moving onto the next thing. I would work with them on specific drills to help them grasp the concepts and help them develop into a complete player.

Client Reviews
Abe (CoachUp client)
Jon has a fantastic approach and demeanor in his lessons with my son. He explains details in a clear and simple way. My son always comes out of each lesson more confident.
Kimberly (CoachUp client)
My son was completely comfortable with coach Jon immediately. My son talked about his lesson for awhile after and felt he understood some of his week spots much better after the first lesson. We will defiantly be booking more sessions and will be telling all his team mates about our experience
