More About Coach Jonathan
I've been working as a coach/personal trainer since 2018. First as a wrestling, track and hockey coach at St. Albans School in Washington DC, then as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Boston Bouldering Project in Somerville MA. I've worked with all ages of children and adults.
In college I was a part of a national championship level ultimate Frisbee program, as well as varsity football, and club ice hockey, wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Post college I played two seasons of club-level ultimate with the DC Watchdogs and Stormborn teams, competing in tournaments around the Mid-Atlantic. I'm currently focused on developing as a cyclist and building my strength and endurance.
A typical sports-specific session will begin with a dynamic warm up, followed by a brief overview of the sessions' goals and layout.
For an ultimate frisbee/field athlete session:
1. Dynamic warmup (10 mins)
2. Change-of-direction plyometrics
-Single leg pogo jumps
-Lateral ascending skaters
-5-10-5 drill
-T drill
-zig zag cone drill
-5-10-25 drill
Break
3. Skill drills
-throwing and catching drills
-throwing and receiving under pressure
-defensive coverage drills
4. Conditioning
-core circuit
-half gassers and sprint endurance training
