More About Coach Jonathan
I started coaching private sessions about five years ago. The range of athletes I have worked with in the past is from 6 year olds to 23 year olds. No matter the goal of the young athlete, I have enough experience to connect with them and help them achieve what they want.
I have played soccer since I was five so, for about 18 years I’ve been enjoying the beautiful game. Going through the US academy system, I have played for various academies in the tri state area. These teams include New York City F.C and FC Westchester. After academy, I went on to play D1 College soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From there I made my professional move to MLS side New York City Football Club.
Clients can expect nothing but thought-out sessions, hard work, and great advice when they work with me. I am very flexible and like to listen to whatever the athlete wants to achieve. Whether it’s improving finishing, defending, or technique, I think I have a good understanding of the game that helps me prepare sessions. In a typical session I would do: Warmup, speed/agility work, technical, tactical, positional work, end with fitness if needed.

Client Reviews
Kelli (CoachUp client)
We’ve had a fantastic experience with JJ as my 11-year-old son’s soccer trainer. JJ is incredibly knowledgeable, motivational, and knows how to bring out the joy of the game while teaching essential techniques and skills. After just the first week of sessions, my son already feels more confident on the field. I’m excited to see his progress continue with more sessions. Highly recommend JJ for anyone looking to elevate their child's soccer skills!
