More About Coach Jonathan
I am currently a soccer coach at the AYSO program at Beverly Vista Middle School. The age ranges from 3 years old to 12 years old. More of my coaching began in Hong Kong, where I coached youth academy players for personal training, ages 14 to 18. Since I played for the Hong Kong National Team from when I was 12 to when I was 20 years old, I have trained several youth national team players during their off-season to make sure they stay fit and ready for tournaments and the upcoming season.
I was the captain of the Hong Kong national youth team since I was 12 years old until I played for the under 20's. I have played in major tournaments such as the AFC (Asian Football Cup) where I represented Hong Kong in competing against other countries like Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, and China. I continued to pursue my football dream and played in England for 2 years at Bradfield College, and won the ISFA Cup (Independent Schools Football Association) in the entire country. I was also training with the Reading Football Club academy during this time. I played at a collegiate level for Division 3 Redlands University, coached by Ralph Perez, the US National Staff Coach in 1990 when the US qualified for the World Cup. We won the SCIAC tournament during my senior year.
I like to focus on technique and also incorporate drills that will elevate the clients fitness level. Sometimes, simplicity is key, this means that drills where the client will be focusing on his/her first touch, turns, weight transfer when receiving the ball, passing, and shooting will be focused but at a high-intensity level. The best players are the ones who can perform simple movements at an incredible speed and intensity. Making the session fun and exciting is also a major component for me, I like to create an environment where the client feels comfortable but also challenged at the same time!

Jonathan is a technically gifted player who has represented the National team in several major tournaments. He is a natural leader who wear the armband with pride and confidence. A midfielder who is able to scan the midfield and find open pockets.
Luke Webb, head coach of bradfield college (Testimonial)
A hardworking and disciplined individual who has a deep passion for the game. He makes the team tick with his deep knowledge of the game in midfield. No doubt he can transfer his knowledge of soccer to his youth players when he becomes a coach!
