More About Coach John
I've coached my son's little league teams. He became an AllStar in AA and AAA. I've coached my son's basketball teams.
Most importantly, I am already giving private lessons to someone who plays on club and elementary school team in Brookline and she would be a great referral. I am looking to open up my opportunities.
I am a 4-time State champion in Boys Volleyball at Brookline High School. Every single year I was in High School we were state Champions. I played at NYU DIII thereafter for a bit.
Stretching (prehab before rehab). Work on light plyometrics for hops and lateral movement. Work on passing and serve receive by breaking down good form, footwork, low platform with pinching back shoulder and dropping front shoulder, passing left to right or right to left in a balanced athletic position, never neutral position. Unorthodox setting drills like, setting with a basketball, setting to a position on the floor relative to the net. Spiking from highest point in front of forehead with weak foot forward against a wall, or trapping the ball against the wall. Its all about getting the reps in and breaking down the form to its granular distinctions and doing it from both the right side and left side to train the brain to have good form and good reaction time.
