John Newton

I've been coaching and training Basketball since 2007. I've coached all ages and all levels, from beginners to NBA Professionals. I have Coached for a number of different schools/programs including Freeport Intermediate School, Travis High School, Oakwood University, I9 sports, I.G.N.I.T.E. Hoops AAU and more. However my biggest accomplishment is Next Level Preps, I am the founder of this organization, which has proudly been responsible for producing quite a few quality people/athletes. I've trained some of the best talents in Basketball including Ray Penn, Harisson Twins, Anthony Odunsi, Trevor Lacey, Jay- R Strowbridge, etc.

I played my High School basketball in Houston Texas, from there I landed an opportunity to play college Basketball at The University of North Alabama in Florence Alabama. I was a very gifted player with tremendous ballhandling abilities, I worked very hard to improve regularly because I wasnt the naturally gifted player. I learned how to work for what I wanted, and I know what it takes to improve.

I am extremely positive and I believe in the power of God. I believe that all athletes can learn to be successful if they are able harness there potential through hard work and focus. I am a dribbling expert. I teach offensive skill moves, and I teach athletes to have a mentality that allows growth, I also believe in bringing energy to every workout. I am usually more than a coach, I am a mentor as well.
