John Myers
John has been in the fitness industry since 1993.
Working and training in gyms and studios across the Grand Strand and Pee Dee.
John attained his BS in Sports Medicine and decided he wanted to go into the fitness sector of the sports medicine discipline.
John earned his ACE personal trainer certification while working as membership manager at T&T personal training and fitness under the tutelage of bodybuilding champion Tami Tucker.
John moved to the Grand Strand in 2000. Working as a trainer in several gyms, John settled on a 9 year career at Life Quest Swim & Fitness in 2002, and in 2014 returned to LifeQuest Swim and Fitness after working with other studios upon request as head trainer. John continues to forward the growth and development of a quality training program at LifeQuest.
Besides being a bodybuilder, power lifter, and wrestler, John carries a multi-dimensional discipline to the fitness practice, including body shaping, functional and sports specific training, post cardiac and physical therapy rehab training.

Started off in athletics in my teen years playing predominately football in Jr. High, High School and College. In the off season I trained by participating in primarily in weightlifting, wrestling, and boxing.
After eight years of football I had suffered a knee injury in my sophomore year in college. Knowing hard sprinting was out I knew I had to keep up my competitive career and I was approached by professional wrestlers Bobby Fulton and Ivan Koloff to pursue a wrestling career. I entered professional wrestling and wrestled from 1991-2014. While I wasn't wrestling I was constantly pushing my personal training career, where In 2013 I was recognized as Grand Strand trainer of the year. Once again in 2014 I was recognized as Grand Strand trainer of the year.

Specifically to the individual client. My training is specific needs training. The game plan is prepared before the session and the micro and macro cycles of the training protocol.

I am a former athlete, so I’ve always had my own routine in the gym. For many years I would alternate routines that I knew worked for me accepting and different workout ideas from ANYONE in the gym was completely an unthinkable idea for me…UNTIL…..one day I had sciatica experience. I couldn’t walk and went through extensive therapy…It was so painful I had no clue when or HOW I would work out again. Through the years I had always observed an employee of the gym, because I could appreciate his dedication and discipline with keeping his body healthy and in shape and also because I enjoyed looking at his huge muscles, love his legs, so I called this person John Myers and told him my story. I was hesitant that I would not be able to allow him to coach me, but I hired him as my personal trainer. I was more than impressed with John. He didn’t just give me a routine to follow; he helped me understand the medical side of my injury so I could keep a routine that would allow my body to adjust to the trauma of my injury. This man is not your typical trainer. He is educated way beyond just having you walk the treadmill and lift some weights. I would HIGHLY recommend John…and I do.
