More About Coach John
I been playing basketball for over 35 years and I have been coaching basketball for over 2 years. I have been fortunate to play the game that I love in North Carolina, Texas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and overseas in Iraq. I have trained student athletes from the ages of 4 to full age adults since 2016. I am instrumental in the local community through volunteering my personal time in the effort of serving as a coach and mentor to the youth in the city of Killeen, Texas. I have coached 8u Flag Football, 10u Girls Basketball and 12u Boys Basketball since 2016. I have distinguished myself through selfless service to the surrounding community by consistently aiding the Youth Sports Programs to develop the future on and off the court. As a coach, donating time to serve the players and the community, my actions and passion focused on improving the opportunities for youth to play the wonderful games of football and basketball. I also serve as a Big Brother to the kids ensuring that they were successful within their school work during their school term. My willingness to get involved, to build and sustain motivation among the youth and Family members made a positive difference for the Fort Hood and Killeen community. I'm currently the Lead Instructor and Mentor at the Hines D1 Elite Basketball where we focus on individual skill player development by striving to assist every student athlete in their pursuit to become a fundamentally sound student athlete.
I played at Western Oklahoma State College where I help lead the Pioneers to the NJCAA Regional II Tournament in Shawnee, Oklahoma in 2005. I lettered in Football, Basketball and Track at Purnell Swett High School in Pembroke North Carolina. There I was a key part of the Rams team that won the Southeastern 4A Conference Tournament and advanced to the East Regional Championships at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. My achievements of my senior year was...
East Regional NCHSAA β 4A
Sectional Champions NCHSAA β 4A
Southeastern Conference 4A Tournament Champions
McDonaldβs High School All-American
All CountyTeam (3x)
All SEC Tournament Team (2x)

Client Reviews
Pamela (CoachUp client)
We have had a great experience with Coach Hines. His sessions are well planned out and geared to what my daughter needs. Not only is he working on her skill-set, he is also helping lay the pathway for her to play in college by reaching out to coaches. I would definitely recommend Coach Hines.
