More About Coach Jessica
ACE Level I Certified Coach. I have been coaching for the past 10 years including fall, spring, and summer seasons. I have coached both recreational, tournament and travel fast pitch softball ranging in ages from 5-16. I have been the commissioner of Youth Softball Little League, coached in NY, PA, and MD and wish to continue my coaching in Florida. In addition to coaching teams, I do individual hitting instructions for all ages.
I have been playing fast pitch since I was 7. I played through high school at the varsity level, and at one point was a part of three travel teams in the same season. I was recruited Division I to Marist on a softball scholarship to be a DH (designated hitter) in the 4 or 5 slot and play left field/first base, but went Division III to based on an academic scholarship. I have received multiple awards throughout my softball career including MVP, All Star Athlete, Scholar Athlete, Player of the Game ect.
Depending on age and skill, my sessions will run sequentially beginning with the basic fundamentals through strategic game enhancing habits. No matter the skill level, basics are fundamental, they will be repeated in multiple sessions to increase muscle memory. Cardio and strength conditioning are just as important as game skills, so they are incorporated into every warm up session, and are focused on once every 3-4 sessions. I write specific lesson plans for each team or individual I coach based on their strengths and weakness and where they want to take their game.
