More About Coach Jessica

I am currently the Head Women’s Basketball coach at Spokane Falls Community College and have a personal trainer certification through NASM. Prior to being hired as the head coach I served as the assistant at Whitworth for three years. I also have experience working with young athletes at NBC camps, clinics, and through private sessions.

From 2010–2013 I played on the women’s basketball team at Easter Oregon University. I was fortunate to play on some very successful teams. We made it to the national tournament every year and went undefeated on conference in 2013. I finished my playing career at Whitworth University in 2015. In 2014 our team won the conference tournament and made it to the second round of the national tournament for the first time in school history. I had the opportunity to start as a post while playing at Whitworth and also lead the team in rebounding. I was fortunate to be voted most inspirational by my teammates consecutively two years in a row.

To start I ask my clients what goals they have and what areas of the game they would like to focus on. I design a workout that emphasizes the areas my clients are wanting to grow in. For example if you wanted a session focused on shooting: I would start the session with ball handling because I believe every basketball player can improve their ball handling skills and it’s a great way to warm up. After ball handling I would focus on form shooting and taking close shots. From there we would work on taking mid range shots and eventually 3 pointers. Next I would have my client take game like shots depending on what position they were through out a series of drills. I would also incorporate free throws throughout the session and we would end the session with free-throws so they could practice them while their legs are tired.

Client Reviews

Thank you Coach Jessica! I saw immediate improvements within minutes from the start of the session. Excited to have more sessions again son for Adoniah! Great build up from warm ups into drills.
