More About Coach Jessica
I am the Assistant Women’s Basketball coach at Columbia Basin College. The past two seasons we have won the NWAC East Region Title and finished in the Final Four at the NWAC Championships. Prior to CBC I was the Head Women's Basketball Coach at The Community Colleges of Spokane. I started my coaching career at Whitworth where I spent time as the Head Assistant and Graduate Assistant for 6 years. I have experience working with young athletes through camps, clinics, and private sessions.
From 2010–2013 I played on the women’s basketball team at Easter Oregon University. We made it to the national tournament every year and went undefeated in conference in 2013. I finished my playing career at Whitworth University in 2015. In 2014 our team won the conference tournament and made it to the second round of the national tournament for the first time in school history. I played a guard/forward position in college. While at Whitworth, I lead the team in rebounding, and was fortunate to be voted most inspirational by my teammates two years in a row.
To start I ask my clients what goals they have and what areas of the game they would like to focus on. I design a workout that emphasizes the areas my clients are wanting to grow in. For example if you wanted a session focused on shooting: I would start the session with ball handling because I believe every basketball player can improve their ball handling skills and it’s a great way to warm up. After ball handling, I would focus on form shooting and taking close shots. From there we would work on taking mid range shots and work our way back as long as form is not compromised. Next I would have my client take game like shots through a series of shooting drills. I would also incorporate free throws throughout the session and we would end the session with free-throws so they could practice free-throws while their legs are tired.

Thank you Coach Jessica! I saw immediate improvements within minutes from the start of the session. Excited to have more sessions again son for Adoniah! Great build up from warm ups into drills.
