More About Coach Jeff

Originally from Mansfield Ma, I have been working in the health and fitness industry for 16 years in and around the greater Boston area. I started personal training while getting my bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Once I received my degree, I began working for two of the most prestigious health clubs in the Boston area where I provided elite personal training services. During that time, I also worked as the health promotion director at a large software company in Needham, MA, where I not only provided personal training but also incorporated weight loss programs and coordinated activities and events, in addition to day-to-day club management.

I opened my first personal training studio in June of 2008, but after 3 years of developing a highly successful practice, I outgrew the space and decided to relocate to Stoneham. I opened his new studio in July of 2011 and have never been happier. I strive to provide superior service and amenities for all of my clients.

Degree: BS Exercise Physiology, University of Massachusetts

Certifications: Along with my degree, currently I hold certifications in AHA CPR/AED and MADD DOGG Spinning. Over the years I have been certified by elite organizations such as ACSM, health fitness instructor, NASM certified personal trainer, NESTA post rehab specialist, AFAA group exercise instructor and USA Weightlifting level one strength coach.

I've been involved with sports as long as I can remember. As a child I can remember participating in all kinds of sports: I played soccer, baseball, and basketball, but I fell in love with football at age 11 when I went out for Pop Warner. I still played the other sports but I really focused on football - and it payed off! I grew up in an extremely competitive town when it came to athletics but I worked hard and earned my way to being a two-year starter and earning two Massachusetts state championships. After high school I attended the University of Massachusetts in Boston where I walked onto the football team and earned a starting roll at linebacker in my 4th game. I was a starter until my career ended prematurely with a devastating knee injury. After college, I coached football and fitness at my old high school for about 4 years, before moving into fitness full-time.

As an adult I still participate in recreational basketball, flag football, half marathons and cycling.

1. 7-10 min of an active/dynamic warmup

2. Sport specific training- Work speed/agility/quickness

3. Transition to strength and power activities: Ex. Explosive lifts, sport-specific exercises and plyometrics - all the while incorporating core stabilization.

4. Pure strength phase: after we finish with the sport-specific activities we'll then transition to pure strength training. We'll focus on getting your body stronger and ready for competition.

5. After the workout we'll do an active cool-down and a full body static stretch.

Client Reviews

Chico and I were at a crossroads in our life after the birth of our second child. We had once been very fit, athletic people, but starting a family really impacted our health. Like so many parents of young children we found ourselves tired, demotivated, and eating poorly. With Jeff's help we were able to get our health back on track. Not only did he kick our butts during our workouts, he taught us how to change the way we think about food and eating. This wound up being a winning combination, allowing us to lose a total of 65lbs!
In my four years of college athletic training, I never saw the same results as when I started training with Jeff. Also, I never received so many compliments on my physique before training with Jeff. He uses the perfect amount of motivation and knows how to push me to levels I didn’t think I was capable of reaching. He's the consummate professional, always going the extra mile to help me achieve my goals. A few years ago I tore my ACL and Jeff was right there to aid my recovery. He helped me rebuild my leg stronger than it had been before as he both pushed me through the pain and curbed my emotional distress. Once I got back on the soccer field I was voted to the league's All-Star team. Without Jeff’s physical rehabilitation expertise that would not have been possible. His enthusiasm, humor, and great personality have me always looking forward to the next workout
