My training plan is individualized for each client because every client has different needs. So before meeting the first time, I will ask the client / parent what they need to work on. Then the first session, the workout will consist of basketball basics (shooting, passing, dribbling, fundamentals) so I can get a feel for what they need to work on. From there, I will design a step by step workout plan through my ladder training method to advance their skill set. This is a building block system that focuses on muscle memory and many repetitions to lead to overall improvement.

Jay is the ideal trainer for young men, because he does a great job of explaining and coaching in a way that is detail-oriented, while making those details easy to understand for the players. He is always researching ways to most effectively train others, and he understands the level of preparation that is involved to ultimately get the most out of who he is training. I have worked with Jay for two years at Northern Kentucky University. Jay is one of those unique trainers that not only understands the game, but knows what to train, and when. He's not going to change a players shot in season, but will make major changes in the off season. His clients will reach their potential much sooner when they work on "game" skills. He doesn't waste their time on all of the flashy tricks that won't translate into the game. He also builds relationships with his clients that allow them to trust the process and to get the most of their time with Jay.
