More About Coach Javian

I have experience coaching and training athletes in basketball and football. I develop training programs for both the weight-room to help improve strength and conditioning as well as court/field performance programs to improve in game skills and qualities. As a coach, I look to teach the fundamentals, improve on skills and development, also preparing them mentally for successes outside the sport in which they play. I have coached at the college level and trained at both the college and professional level. I have worked as a trainer and a coach at King University. I have worked with all various age groups but specialize in working with ages 15-adults. I am ACE certified as a personal trainer.

I competed at the college level in basketball, football, and track at King University and UVa-Wise. I was the captain of my team for two years of basketball.

In a typical session, my clients can expect a physical challenge to push themselves. My typical weight room sessions usually last from 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes depending on if the session is timed or relaxed. We start off with a warm up usually stretching or dynamic stretch. In the weight room I typically train for techniques to build strength and reduce injuries. If the session was sport-specific the sessions last about 45 minutes to 1 hour. We look to focus on sport-specific skills and position-specific skills to improve overall potential of client. A typical weight room session may look something like this.

leg curls +leg Extensions 5x10 each
Power clean front squat and press 5x5 @75%
