More About Coach Jason
Growing up in Baltimore, MD, a lacrosse hotbed, it seemed almost predestined that I would become a lacrosse player. I played on the varsity squad at my high school for four years and was one of the captains of my team in my senior year. I also played two years at the collegiate level at St. Mary's College of Maryland (Division III).
After graduating from college, I spent a couple of years as an assistant coach at the middle school and high school levels before becoming a head high school coach.
Since moving to Arizona, I haven't had the opportunity to coach lacrosse, but I have continued to coach other sports at the youth level, including soccer, basketball, and flag football.
As a player, I have played every position on the lacrosse field but have focused mostly on playing goalie and midfield. A lacrosse coaching session with me would be focused on meeting the player's individual needs, whether that involved passing and catching, cradling the ball, shooting, dodging, picking up ground balls, face-offs, or any other aspect of the game. While working on the various skills unique to the sport of lacrosse, I would also make sure the player was working on their individual fitness which is so important in this fast-moving sport. Whether the player is a beginner who is just learning the sport, or a more advanced player who wants to take his game to the next level, I can provide a positive learning environment for the player to improve and grow as a lacrosse player.

Each lacrosse workout would be tailored to a player's specific position, since a goalkeeper's workout would be very different from a midfielder's workout. Here is a typical workout for a midfielder:
Warm-up running / stretch - 7 minutes
Session objectives / purpose - 2 minutes
Ground ball drills / faceoff drills - 9 minutes
Dodging / Cradling drills - 9 minutes
Passing / Catching drills - strong hand and weak hand - 9 minutes
Shooting drills - strong hand and weak hand - 9 minutes
Defensive drills - 9 minutes
Cool down / Stretch / Review session - 5 minutes

Coach Jason made things very comfortable for my son, who is brand new to lacrosse, and is a very good teacher. It was easy to organize the sessions. We plan to have more sessions with Coach Jason in the future.
