I have been coaching since 2021. I currently coach with Sachem Slammers at all ages/levels. I am also an assistant for Newfield Varsity Boys Soccer. I am currently looking to obtain my USSF C License.
I played for Newfield Boys Soccer during my 4 years of high school. I played for various clubs throughout Suffolk, LAke Grove Newfield Soccer and Middle Country Soccer. I played as a winger and center midfielder.
My typical private soccer session begins with a warm-up that includes light jogging, dynamic stretching, and footwork drills to prepare the body for training. Players then focus on ball mastery through dribbling exercises, quick touches, and juggling to improve control. The technical portion of the session includes drills for dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive skills, depending on the player’s position and needs. Dribbling drills involve cone work and 1v1 moves, while passing exercises focus on accuracy and quick decision-making. Shooting drills help players develop finishing techniques, and defenders work on tackling, jockeying, and positioning. Tactical awareness is also emphasized through small-sided games, passing patterns, and scenario-based training to improve decision-making. Conditioning and strength exercises, such as sprinting, lateral movements, and resistance training, enhance a player’s endurance and power. Core and lower-body workouts further support balance and stability on the field. The session concludes with a cool-down that includes static stretching, deep breathing, and a review of key takeaways. Finally, the player and I discuss progress and set goals for the next session to ensure continued development.
