More About Coach Jason
Since 2011 I have coached in youth basketball leagues for Raleigh Parks and Recreation, and helped coach Triangle Elite AAU junior team. I am currently a National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) member. I train athletes 1-on-1 and in small group settings. As an advocate for athletes, I take my commitment serious in developing a well-rounded player, and i do not stop once my participants leaves the court, I ensures academic success, encourage community involvement, and assists with the transition to middle/high school and onto college.
I played varsity basketball at Sanderson High School in Raleigh, NC from 2000-2002 and was voted to the CAP 8 All-Conference Team my junior and senior year while averaging 18 ppg and 19 ppg, respectively in one of the most competitive 4A conferences in North Carolina. I later attended and played basketball at Shaw University and was named to the 2004-2005 CIAA All-Freshman Team. I was also invited to play on the USA Team Select in Charlotte, NC.
During our Group Sessions we focus on group fundamental basketball drills for athletes of all ages. Our goal is to improve our athlete’s ability to control their dribble, shoot accurately, engage in defensive man-to-man positions, foot speed and coordination, and safely condition with a group of players. In 1-on-1 sessions I focus specifically on an individual player's need to improve and refine in certain areas such as dribbling, shooting mechanics, and overall player development on a more intense and hands-on level. I also do team training and skill development sessions for AAU and high school and middle school teams.
