More About Coach Janik

I currently work as the fitness coach for the men’s soccer team at Harris-Stowe State University, where I design and lead strength, conditioning, and performance sessions to help players improve their speed, endurance, and overall athletic ability. My focus is on creating research-based, game-specific workouts that prepare players to perform at their peak during matches.

In addition, I spent the summer coaching for the Liverpool International Academy USA, where I trained youth players of different ages and skill levels. There, I worked on developing players’ technical skills, first touch, and game awareness while keeping sessions fun and competitive.

My coaching philosophy combines fitness and football development — I believe every player should understand why they train a certain way and how it translates to performance on the field. With my Fitness Coach B-License and college-level coaching experience, I’m passionate about helping players unlock their full potential.

Soccer has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve played four years of college soccer in the U.S., competing at a high level and earning awards such as Most Improved Player of the Year in 2023 and Second Team All-Conference in 2024. I was also my team’s top goal scorer in several seasons, which came from years of dedication, discipline, and passion for the game.

This past summer, I earned my Fitness Coach B-License and trained players of all ages at the Liverpool International Academy, which helped me grow as both a coach and a leader. I currently serve as the fitness coach for my college men’s soccer team, designing sessions that build strength, endurance, and speed. Combining my playing experience with my fitness background allows me to connect with athletes and help them perform at their best—both physically and mentally.

Every session with me starts with a research-based active warm-up designed to prepare your body for high performance and reduce the risk of injury. We then move into active stretching to improve flexibility, mobility, and coordination before training intensity increases.

After warming up, we focus on technical development—working on your first touch, control, and overall ball-handling skills. From there, we progress into passing drills that emphasize quick decision-making, awareness, and movement off the ball. These exercises are designed to mirror real-game pressure so you can react faster and smarter on the field.

We’ll then work on finishing, timing, and decision-making in the final third, including behavior in front of goal, positioning during crosses, and 1v1 situations. Every drill is game-related, and I’ll always explain why we do it so you understand how to apply it in real matches.

Since I’m also a fitness coach for a college men’s soccer team, expect the sessions to be intense, sweaty, and effective. Training intensity and focus areas depend on your goals and progress—each session evolves as you improve..
