More About Coach James

I've coached and trained a variety of different age groups starting from the ages of 6 year olds all the way up to high schoolers. I started doing it in high school working different camps and clinics to coaching NJB squads during the offseason when I wasn't playing and it continued in college as well as when I played a little professional ball. I'm pretty flexible when it comes to working with different age groups since I have been exposed to a variety of ages.

When I attended Los Alamitos High school I was back to back Sunset League MVP, selected to all county teams and was put into the hall of fame. My freshman year of college I received a scholarship to attend Utah State University where I won a conference championship and was able to go to the NCAA tournament that year as well. My sophomore year I attended Citrus College where I am the only player in the program history to win JUCO state player of the year and we had one of the best records for a season that year as well. My last two years of college I finished at Saint Mary's College of California in the Bay area where I went to the postseason both seasons going to the NCAA tournament again in my junior year then going to the NIT my senior year. In the top 12 for steals for an individual season, games started for the year, and records for free throws during the postseason. I played a couple months professionally after graduating in Australia in their second division league down there.

Sessions are player based depending on what they want to work on and get better at I would aim to hit those areas. Working on all different facets of their game. Trying to replicate what you will see and do in a game. Doing different drills when it comes to shooting, dribbling, defense, IQ, and cardio. Creating healthy habits that turns different techniques into muscle memory so it becomes more and more natural so the player doesn't have to think too much and can be more focused on reading and reacting.
