I have been a head or assistant basketball coach for the past 25yrs at the Youth, AAU, High School and Military levels. I have coached athletes from all walks of life from the ages 10-30.

In the Philadelphia Pennsylvania region became founder and director of an 18u Amateur Athletic Association Basketball Organization for 5yrs. During the the duration as coach of the organization, 6 or more former players are currently playing basketball at the div 1,2,3 college ranks . Volunteer basketball coach for the Bensalem Police Athletic League for 2yrs

In Asia, & Europe won 3 Western Pacific Men's Basketball titles as a Player/Head Coach for the United States Navy Western Pacific Command in the Philippines, Japan, and Hawaii , in addition to compiling a 60-15 record. Coached the same teams in exhibition games against professional teams from France, Italy, Japan, Australia and Hong Kong

I truly understand the importance and responsibility of assisting a young person with the development of his or her athletic ability, but most importantly as father 1st and a coach 2nd I have been entrusted with the safety and instruction of a someone's child that can’t take a back seat to anything else. Now that I have relocated to the Raleigh/Durham North Carolina area I would love to have the opportunity to continue to teach young kids the correct way to perform on & off the court.

In New Jersey was a starter for the Boys & Girls Club 1st City League Championship team Newark, New Jersey , played two years as a reserve forward for Malcolm X Shabazz High School Newark New Jersey, that continues to have one of the top Athletic programs in the country. I also earned athletic letters in football and track from the same high school. In New York I played in the city's prestigious West 4th Street Basketball League for 5yrs Manhattan NY

In Virginia played one yr of J.V basketball for Saint Paul's College that was a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association at the division 2 level, also received a football scholarship from the same school, starter for the Naval Base Basketball team that won a Naval Base Basketball Championship.

In California a starter at the forward position for the Alameda Hellcats Naval Base Basketball Team that participated in the Armed Forces/Junior College West Coast League, starter for USS Carl Vinson Basketball Team that won three Bay Area Ship Championships.

In Europe and Asia as a player/coach of the United States Naval Western Pacific Command won three Western Pacific Titles and compiled a 60-15 record while competing in Italy, Hong Kong, Philippines, Japan, Australia, and France. Also competed in exhibition games as a player against professional teams from the countries previously mentioned.

As a coach your job is to instruct, but at the the same time you must listen, because you can always learn from someone else no matter how old or young they are.

I always start each session with the proper warm-up & a warm down techniques to prevent injuries for about 10-15min. The next 45-50min will consists of working on various skills such as passing, dribbling, footwork, shooting, positioning, defense, free throws, rebounding etc. Each week I will include different skills to work on. As a group you will work on the things that are needed the most for you to succeed on & off the court. The training level will be appropriate to the skill set of the individual or group. I expect that you come to train at a very high level every-time you walk through the door. There will be no tolerance for any attitudes or individuals not wanting to improve themselves.

My goal is to instruct you with the necessary knowledge and skills to meet whatever goals that you have set for yourself. In rearguards to shooting, you will be taught how to properly to put the ball in the right position to score, dribbling you will taught how to become equally strong in either hand, passing you will taught how to properly hold the ball before putting it in play. defensively you will be taught proper stance and footwork. This is just a short list of many skills that will be taught while under my instruction. I have always been a fair person on off the court, and will bend over backwards to help you succeed, but I expect the same effort in return. If there are any other questions that you may have, please do not hesitate to contact me through Coach-Up I look forward to working with you, and building a strong relationship.

Thanks Coach Walker
