More About Coach Jake

I have been coaching fitness clients and athletes of all ages for 2+ years in several gym locations in the surrounding area. I served as an Assistant coach at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth where I worked with Wide Receivers & Tightends. In addition I am currently the Strength & Conditioning & Specialties coach for the Varsity football program at Somerset-Berkeley Regional High School. I have experience working with athletes of all ages ranging from 10 year old basketball and tennis players to elite college student-athletes. My specialties consist of athlete development for all sports, football skill, speed & agility, strength & conditioning. Certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Student-Athlete at Division 1 Umass Amherst Football & Dual sport (Football & Baseball) at Bridgewater State University. Currently hold two HS records in Football & Track. Was a two year All Eastern Mass. team recipient for football as well as a 4 year college starter. Named to the All Scholastic Team for two consecutive years. Offensive MVP award recipient.

Begin with some muscle release work through foam rolling or using other self-myofascial release tools. Then move into a general warm up which consists of 4-5 min of low intensity cardio (walking,jogging,body weight circuit, plyometrics). Next a dynamic warm up consisting of movements similar to the ones we would be training during that session. Depending on their goals and sport I would implement specific core/balance/agility drills that would help improve performance and structural integrity. In addition depending on the age and goals of the client I would train or converse over proper movement patterns and provide resistance programs that are not only safe but effective for their given goal. Also would include necessary endurance or specific running to help improve cardiovascular system and become faster, more explosive.
