More About Coach Jaïr

I have been coaching clients and athletes as a certified fitness trainer for twenty years. I specialize in 1-on-1 and group fitness training. With a background in soccer, martial arts, and strength-training I have developed a training system that incorporates elements of each to challenge and bring the best out of my clients. In addition to my athletic background, I also have a graduate degree from USC in Human Aging and Development. I have trained in clubs including Equinox, high-end private studios, and as the exclusive trainer for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Tyson's Corner, VA.

As an athlete I competed in soccer, track & field, swimming, and martial arts (1st degree black belt Tae Kwon Do). I am a fitness and life enthusiast. I bike, run, spar, occasionally do crossfit, and anything else my busy schedule allows.

My sessions always begin with a little warmup routine which will vary depending on what we are working on that day. The goal is simply to get the heart rate up and fire up the central nervous system. From there we jump right in and often do our biggest movements first (multi-joint/compound exercises) followed later by more isolated exercises. The structure of the sessions and the exercises we do are determined by the long-term goals that we have established in the beginning.
