More About Coach Jacob
Over summers throughout college I worked for LM Trainers in the Philadelphia area, training young athletes ages 5-16 to improve their fundamental basketball skills. I also spent my entire childhood training my younger sister, who is now the starting PG on the club team at UVA. I have focused on my education and career the past 24 months, and would love to get back into private coaching/training on a part-time basis.
I personally was the captain of the varsity basketball team in high school (as well as varsity baseball and varsity soccer). I was also on the club basketball team at my university (WashU in St. Louis) for 3 years. I won multiple MVP awards throughout my high school sports career, including varsity basketball in my senior year. I have competed against current NBA players Cam Reddish and Mo Bamba in conference playoff games. I shot 43% from 3pt range in my senior year of high school, on an average of 6-7 3pt attempts per game.
I typically tailor lessons specifically to development needs of the athlete/child. My initial lesson would be focused on fitness for the first 5-10 minutes (as a warmup), followed by 10 minutes of dribbling work, followed by 10 minutes of form shooting work, followed by 10 minutes of live offensive decision making practice, followed by 10 minutes of defensive drills, and conclude with 10 minutes of fun/creative games to improve whichever area I felt the athlete/child needs the most improvement in.
