Client Reviews

To Whom It May Concern, It has been my good fortune to make the acquaintance of John “Jack” Pettine. I was introduced to Jack at the local lacrosse retail store where he is employed. Jack volunteered, welcoming the challenge, to mentor my 8-year old son, Teddy, who plays lacrosse and is very interested in playing the position of goaltender like Jack. Let me first say that Teddy frequently exhibits challenging behaviors; he is a bright, athletic boy who is emotionally young as well as chronologically young for his classroom grade and lacrosse team. Over the course of several meetings, I observed Jack interacting with Teddy in positive ways. He used consistent vocabulary and a kind tone of voice. Jack treated Teddy with respect; it seemed Jack went above and beyond to connect with Teddy. Teddy responded positively to his methods; Teddy was always willing to meet with Jack. Jack’s enthusiasm for the sport and for the position kept Teddy engaged. Jack was able to direct Teddy back to the task very quickly. As each lesson drew to a close and Teddy’s focus diluted, Jack could coax 15-20 more minutes from him. I recognized that Jack worked hard to get the best from Teddy. I have heard it said, “only a goalie can teach a goalie”. Jack deserves much credit for his Teddy’s success and confidence in this demanding position. He volunteered for the challenge and saw it through to fruition! As the parent-organizer of these sessions with Jack, I was pleased with Jack’s responsibility to making time to work with us. He consistently responded promptly and clearly whether by phone or text message. He arrived on time without exception and with a positive energy to work with Teddy. He would always take time to answer my questions after a session. Jack is a fine young man. He is hard-working and clearly stands out in his dedication to helping children. He has my highest recommendation. I am happy to furnish more details if you would like additional information. Most sincerely, Shelly KS LeBlanc
