More About Coach Jack

I have been involved in many different aspects of coaching. I have trained athletes one on one, in a group(clinic) setting, and on a team. The programs I have coached with are 2knights Lacrosse, Hills Lacrosse Club, and Pro Lacrosse Camps. My main area of expertise is goaltending but I am not limited to this position. I have been around the game for over 15 years and have gained a lot of knowledge about all positions on the field in that time span. I can also provide strength/conditioning to players who need to work on that aspect of their game.

I graduated from Rutgers University in the Spring of 2019 with All-Academic Big Ten Honors. While attending school I played goalie for four years under Coach Brian Brecht, where we reached the BIG ten finals and were ranked number 1 in the Division I coaches poll. I graduated Watchung Hills Regional High School in 2015. Playing goalie there, I was coached by Long Island native Jamie Lovejoy, a former Rutgers captain and member of the lacrosse community at large. I was captain and named MVP my senior year while at WHRHS. I also was given 1st team All-state and 1st team All-skyland conference, chosen for the Gill Gibbs all star game as well.

Typically, I will like to do hour long sessions. I will arrive early and warm up a goalie(or any other position) and stretch them out before a session if I have time. I am not strict on how long the session is supposed to be but I charge hourly. Once my player(s) are warmed up and ready to go, I like to focus on aspects of the game that they are struggling with and need more confidence from. I like to let the players pick and choose the drills that they feel will improve their game. If I don’t necessarily agree with them over time, I will implement drills that I think will benefit them. For example, if a goalie told me his/her hands weren’t fast enough to save shots consistently, I would train them to increase hand speed. However, if I saw that their footwork and positioning was the real problem at hand, I would change the plans and communicate that to my player. I like to treat warm ups and stretching as a routine, but the drills concerned with their game will usually be a mix every time so that the player isn’t too comfortable all the time. This way, they can really tune into what they need to work on. I can also provide conditioning, agility, or endurance drills if the players need them.

Client Reviews

Coach Jack was great! He not only shared his tips on goalie skills, but took the time to get to know my son. By the end of the session Jack knew about Joey's teammates and Joey's other interests. That to me is a great coach. If you don't get to know your student/team, how can you begin to teach them. He made a connection which is very important. We will be signing up for another session. Thanks Jack!

One of the greatest teammates on and off the field I am proud to have coached.
