More About Coach Isaac

Hello, My name is Isaac Morales. I am a left-handed pitcher who played college ball at Cal State Univ. of Los Angeles for 4 years. We made it to the College World Series in 2007 and ended up in 3rd place. I broke the university school record for most career wins by a pitcher with 25. I also threw the 4th no hitter in the history of CSULA. I played in the Cape Cod summer league in 2008 and Northwoods League in the summer of 2007 where we won the NWL Championship and was voted the team MVP. I was drafted in the 34th round by the Florida Marlins in 2009 and played for them for 2 1/2 years. My ERA was 3.25 in over 80 innings of relieving with them. Although I have a lot of accomplishments, it was never because I threw over 90mph. I averaged around 85-88 mph but because of the mental toughness that I had, I was able to succeed. This is what I will teach your players because although pitching mechanics are important, using the mental aspect of the game to your advantage is crucial. The best pitch in baseball is not a change up, curve ball, slider, or cutter, it's first pitch strike! But if you throw harder, that's even better.

•2005 High School City Section Eastern League MVP.
•Threw the 1st no hitter in the history of the Daily News Tournament at USC in the championship game.
•Threw the 4th no hitter in Cal State LA history.
•Career record for most wins at Cal State LA (25).
•2007 Northwoods League MVP (Champions)
•2008 Cape Cod summer league player with Orleans Cardinals.
•Drafted in the 34th round by the Florida Marlins in 2009
•2007, 2008, and 2009 First Team All CCAA
•2007, 2008, and 2009 Daktronicks All West Region First Team Div.2

I like to focus on the mental part of the game although I do not put aside the proper mechanics. The session also includes a good 10 minute workout at the end.
