More About Coach Ian

I am currently the head women's track coach at the University of Portland and have been a member of the coaching staff there since 1995. I have developed numerous high level athletes, including conference champions, school-record holders, and All-Americans. I am also working to develop better youth athletes in a variety of sports through this platform.

I competed in two Olympic Trials in the marathon and ran collegiately for University of Portland, winning the WCC cross country title and making the All-Region team. I competed for about 10 years post collegiately as a semi-pro in cross country, track, and road races.

These sessions will be 60-70min long and focus on the following: proper warmup with mobility, evaluation and improvement of running form, speed and agility, and core strength. The idea is to build better athletes in all sports by making them faster, stronger, and more efficient.

Client Reviews

Ian has provided excellent and very specific input for our young soccer player who is trying to work on running speed. It's been a great addition to his overall training regimen.

Coach Ian is great! My son enjoys going to training, and even puts in the work at home that Ian has him work on. He keeps him working the whole session, but changes it up and keeps it interesting for my son. Would recommend him to anyone looking for a push on their kid’s speed and agility.

My son has been working with Ian on his running form, strength and endurance on the field. Ian is an excellent coach and we’re seeing positive results. Best part is our son really enjoys the sessions and working with coach Ian.

My daughter had her first session with Ian and loved it. She was able to improve her running technique and work on her agility working cone drills. Ian is friendly and listens to the needs of my daughter. He made my daughter work throughout the 1hr session. I plan to schedule more workouts in the future. Thanks, Ian.
