More About Coach Ian

For many years, I have coached at large soccer camps with hundreds of young players aged 6-17. I have also conduct many group and one-on-one sessions for players of all ages and skill levels. I have the basic youth coaching licenses but am not currently available to coach my own team.

I currently play for the Pro soccer team FC Naples here, but I also have played in the Premier League in Finland as well as in other leagues in Sweden and here in the US. I have also played two years of pro indoor soccer for the St Louis Ambush. When I was a youth player, I won the USSDA National championship with the Chicago Fire.

Depending on the age and skill level of the client and if the session is one-on-one or a group, a typical session can range from 30 minutes to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Each session will involve a warm-up, then the majority of the session will be made up of technical work that could be passing, shooting, dribbling, or a combination of them all. Many sessions will involve different drills for coordination, footwork, speed, and agility that translate to the game. At the end of every session, I like to meet with the client and their parent, if present, and discuss what was worked on, why, and how the client can continue to improve on a daily basis.
