I am a recent college graduate from the University of San Diego, where I played 4 years. I coached the summer 2017 Oaks Baseball program based in Concord, Ca, grades 8-12. I coached at the Unversity of San Diego summer camps ages 6-14. I work with ages 8-18.
Played four-years at the University of San Diego. 2017 All-West Coast Conference team. 2017 draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lettered three-years at De La Salle High School. Drafted by Oakland Athletics 2013. EBAL MVP 2013. Louisville Slugger First-team All-American 2013. Member of Team USA 16-U Pan American Gold medal team 2011. First-team EBAL All-League 2011-2013. First-team All-Nor Cal Prep 2011,2013. First-team Contra Costa Times 2011,2013. First-team All-East Bay 2011,2013.
A typical session revolves around the progression of hitting. I believe in focusing on three specifics to be successful in the batters box. Number 1: timing. Number 2: Attack position or the position hitters put themselves in before ball strike. Number 3: Contact point, which I believe is instrumental to understand as a hitter when creating success at the plate. I am a huge advocate of tee-work for any player. I believe you must be able to hit a ball correctly that isn’t moving before you move onto soft toss. Soft toss is also a great tool for my clients. It is part of the progression where we take the same hitting positions and use them while the ball is moving at a controlled speed. Finally, hitting off the live arm is our last step of our progression, which is an example of bringing everything we have worked on together. I also love to talk approach with my clients. Having a plan while hitting is just as important as your swing at times. I believe the mental side of baseball is what separates athletes and it is something to be worked on just like other fundamentals like fielding and hitting.
