Private lacrosse lessons to youth players (ages 10 to 14) – 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017

1st/2nd Grade Youth lacrosse coach – 2015
3rd/4th Grade Youth lacrosse coach – 2015

I have coached players in 1st - 8th grade, and both JV and Varsity high school players between being a head coach for youth teams, an assistant coach for high school teams, and private lessons spanning all ages. The teams I have coached and the lessons I have done have been in and around the Dallas area.

Air Force Lacrosse - 2013-2014
Dallas Jesuit Varsity Lacrosse Starter - 2009-2013 (Team Captain & All-District)
King of the Hill 2012 Rising Senior All-Star Team
T99 All-Star Team 2010, 2011
UNC Team Camp 2010 All-Star Team

I played Midfield & Attack 5th-8th grade, and Defense in high school/college - can coach both.

Open to parental guidance for younger guys to know what specific areas of their game they want worked on. However, most sessions focus on the fundamentals, and after providing a good base for those I will begin to introduce more specialized skills.

For Midfield & Attack/Youth lessons:
Passing both left and right hand, work on the top hand wrist snap. Start static and then begin moving around, working up to running.
Ground balls
Shooting - overhand only, work bounce shots (young guys) / all types (high school)

For Defense:
Work from the ground up. You play defense with your feet first, then your hands, then your stick. So the first few lessons will start out with a shortstick or without a stick to teach good footwork, and then will begin the hand placement, and only after learning and getting into the habit of using feet first and then hands to play defense will I introduce the stick aspect of defense (in terms of on ball play).
Ground balls are the priority, and then stick skills for Defense.

Client Reviews

Hunter Hill is a solid and exceptionally mean player. He is tough, quick, and strong. He is a smart player and really understands how to take away topside and uses strong angle play to his advantage. He throws very hard checks to get his feet into position. He will slow an offensive player down by beating on him early and often. He has a great stick for such a young defenseman and clears the ball the first time. He is not afraid to stick himself into difficult ground ball piles where he comes out with the ball successfully. He is tough beyond his years and makes many of the correct plays.
