More About Coach Hunter
I have grown up playing soccer my whole life, and after playing, I continued to stay in touch with the game by coaching soccer for my little brother's recreational team. I worked as a coach for an organization called Soccer Genome, where I led mini groups and finishing and footwork masterclass sessions, as well as private training sessions. Over the years, I have coached numerous individual soccer players. Mostly working at the youth level, working with kids as young as 6 or 7, and older. I know what it takes to help a player step up to the next level and perfect their craft.
I played soccer as a youth in both club soccer at NCFC and school soccer at Wakefield High School. I was a Varsity player for 3 years and named Captain on both my club and school teams. I was a Hamilton award winner, Best in conference award winner, and defensive MVP winner.
A typical training session with an all-around improvement focus would include footwork and juggling to begin with, focusing on control and manipulation of the ball at a player's feet. From there, we would move on to passing and moving, i.e., controlling the ball on the turn, one-touch passing, and escaping pressure. Afterwards, we would move on to some finishing or 1v1 practice to hone in on the skills learned in the session. This is all subject to change, however, based on player need and focus.
