More About Coach Hugh
I coached a u13 boys select travel team for 2 years. I was the head coach and coached the whole team by myself. I was also the JV and varsity coach of a high school team. I was the assistant coach on varsity and the head coach for JV. My u13 boys team won 2 travel tournaments. Many of the players moved onto their varsity high school soccer teams and others moved onto college.
I currently coach a u12 Charlotte eagles team here in Charlotte.
I’ve played soccer my whole life. I went to George mason university in Virginia on scholarship for soccer. I currently play professional soccer for the Philadelphia Union organization. This is my 4th year being a professional player but I’ve been playing my whole life so I have plenty of experience. In high school I was on varsity all 4 years. I was named to 1st team all league 3 of 4 years in high school. In college I was named 1st team all conference my senior year, we also won the conference tournament and went to the ncaas . As a professional I was selected as a defender of the year finalist last season and also 1st team all league.
I am currently in my 6th year as a professional and currently play for the Charlotte independence
What you can expect is a fun but intense training session. I want the best for your kid so I will make sure your kid focuses on whatever strength or weakness he needs but also some fun activities because kids learn best when they are having fun. In soccer it’s important to be technical and comfortable on the ball so I do a lot of drills getting their technical abilities better as well as ball control. Whatever position your kid may be I know drills that will help and I have experience that can help them in any situation.
