More About Coach Hector

I have been coaching for 20+ years in Baseball and Softball. I've been doing personal training for the past 6 years. I have coached at all levels from beginner to 18u travel showcase team and also trained college level athletes. I have coached for many travel ball organization and in the process of getting hired on as a softball coach for Fresno Unified. The age group I work with varies that I'm coaching, but if we're talking about training it typically ranges from 10yrs old to 16's. I have a National Federation High School Certificate and I am CPR certified.

I have played 4yrs of high school football at Caruthers High School from 1986 to 1990, 2yrs in which I played as a linebacker and running back and the last 2yrs as a running back and defense back. I ran the 40 in 4.5 sec. I also hold the record for pick 6 of 105 yards. I ran varsity track for 2yrs. Ran the 220 in 21 sec and the 100 yard in 10.9 sec. Played Varsity baseball all 4yrs at Caruthers High School and started as a freshman at 3rd base and shortstop. Received awards for batting titles, stolen bases and my highest batting average was .560. As I started my family in my younger years I didn't get the opportunity to compete at the professional level until I was 28. In 1999 to 2001 my professional career started when I got scouted to play for a Triple A team called Rojos De La Carranza Liga Rural Fedrada Primera Fuerza Mexicali Beisbol. I have received the honor in participating at the Triple A at that level was plenty for me.

Honesty, the reassurance that there child is in my best of interest. That at the end of our session there child will have confidence in what we have covered and never leave in confusion. That's one matter that I am adamant about. I think specific drills and technique go hand in hand but I will say this without the correct technique doing drills will only get an athlete so far and it will show as the competition gets tougher. It depends if its a new client there is a evaluation process the studying of the athletes strengths and weakness. I focus a lot on the mental part of the game, the more the athletes understands the more he or she will be able to put to use, in turn builds confidence and don't we all need that. Once a regular client it will consist of the re-evaluating of how he or she did on the weekend in tournament play or games (trouble areas or what the player struggled in) understanding it and why they struggled and then start the rebuilding process/drills according to what is needed.

Coach Hector was very patient and after 2 hrs my daughter had really improved on her swing .

Hector was very patient with my daughter, he took extra time out of his evening to get to know her and figure out where exactly she's going wrong with her swing. He simplified the proper way she should be starting and ending her time at bat. It seems like she's got it and they clicked well. Coach Hector is not just a coach to my daughter he is also a mentor. My daughter tends to hold back and be shy but since working with Hector he has brought her out of her shell and put her in beast mode!!! My experience and my granddaughters experience has been a successful one. She has worked with Hector for two years and became a very good ballplayer under his coaching.
