Since 2009 I have been facilitating adaptive sport opportunities for wounded, ill, and injured services members. This included a variety of different sports but most of my experience is in basketball. Last season I was the recruiting coach for Virginia Wesleyan College Women's Basketball. Though my primary position was to recruit future athletes for the program I participated in the daily practices at Wesleyan and assisted the head coach throughout each session. Also worked one on one with the players as needed to get players coming off injury back up to operating speeds.

I played basketball my entire childhood through high school to include the high school team, travel AAU team, as well as in local leagues. I played one year at Virginia Wesleyan College before an injury took that opportunity away from me. I currently play in local leagues and referee wheelchair basketball games.

Fundamentals are a main focus for me. If you can shoot the lights out but can't get open, can't dribble, or can't come off a pick you aren't going to get many shots. Focusing on being really sound at the basics before moving to higher level skills. It's not all about offense, it's about defense and being a team player. Being in good defensive position to get a rebound, get a steal, take a charge, or be in a position to help on defense is just as important as scoring.
