More About Coach Haley

As a collegiate athlete, I have gained over four years of coaching experience, as well as United Soccer Coaches licensing and plenty of knowledge from high level coaches I've worked under.
I have worked with soccer players of all ages, positional specialties, and levels of play. During my five years of undergraduate study at Wingate University in Charlotte, North Carolina, I started gaining experience by having the opportunity to help plan, and eventually run my own sessions for the college ID camps hosted by both the Men’s and Women’s Soccer Programs. Since January 2025, I have had the opportunity to work for Prime Focus Goalkeeping, where I was trusted to plan and run goalkeeper sessions for goalkeepers of all ages and levels of play on a weekly basis. Through this organization, I was given the opportunity to earn my United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Levels 1 & 2 licenses. I have also worked with very young players, ages 4-5, helping them learn the basics of soccer and helping them develop coordination and base athleticism.

In my time as a collegiate athlete, I have earned starting spots and significant minutes on NCAA D2, WPSL, and USLW teams. Through my undergraduate career at Wingate University, I earned Preseason All Conference Third Team, and Regular Season All Conference Second Team awards. In my Redshirt Senior year, I helped lead my team to the program’s first ever Regular Season Conference Championship. Additionally, I have earned starting spots for Neuse River FA’s WPSL team in the summer of 2024, and the Charlotte Eagles USLW team in the summer of 2025. Most recently, I have transferred to St. Mary’s University to pursue a Master’s Degree and hopefully bring home some hardware for the St. Mary’s Women’s Soccer program with my sixth year of eligibility.

My session plans vary based on the needs of the athlete I am training, including their communicated strengths, areas of improvement, or age, but all sessions tend to follow a similar structure. First, I begin by leading the athlete through a dynamic warmup, asking about their day and walking them through what we will be working on in the session. Then, we move into a fun game and/or a plyometric series geared toward the session’s focus that serves to prepare the athlete’s muscles and mind. From there, we begin with a technical focused warmup that will continuously progress into live decision making scenarios that allow the athlete to apply the focus of the session in game-like situations.
For younger athletes, I tend to focus more on developing basic soccer skills and playing fun games where they can develop fundamental coordination and athleticism, and have fun while getting accustomed to having a soccer ball at their feet.
