More About Coach Gerard

My name is Coach Gerard. I am very active in the local Old Bridge Little League. I sponsor a team yearly and I also coach two Little League teams. I have helped train and develop players and coaches for our in town travel teams, and coached a "Mayors Cup" All Star team. I am the director of a yearly youth baseball camp for ages 4-13 for the Old Bridge Little League for the past 4 years. I typically plan, organize, and supervise the baseball activities for 50-60 participants and 5 seasoned coaches during the week of baseball camp. I am a Certified Little League Manager/Coach and also a certified member of the National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches; proud sponsor of Youth Sports.
I possess professional qualifications to help bring your child's game to new levels. I enjoy teaching kids the essential skills of Baseball while promoting Fun, Sportsmanship, and Self Confidence.
I enjoy working with players of all ages and levels. My focus the past 5 years has been more geared toward youth ages 4-13 because my children are active participants in Little League Baseball. I also love the opportunity and challenge of coaching teenagers because I can make a monumental difference in their game. My specialties include private hitting instruction, pitching and catching. I teach and stress strong fundamentals, then constantly reinforce those fundamentals with lots of repetition. There are no "gimmicks" to becoming a better baseball player. You will leave our session with confidence!

My qualifications include: Former Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League All Star for the Jersey Pilots. Member of the 1993 Montclair State Division III World Series Baseball Champions. First Team All Conference award and Eastern College All Star (ECAC). First Team All State Catcher honors at Trenton State College 1994. Offered chance to play professional baseball with The Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball League, but declined offer to accept a professional occupation locally. Played semi-pro baseball on Staten Island for several years until Achilles heel injury sidelined me. I have over 35 years of playing and coaching experience, and have learned from some of the best collegiate coaches in the business as well as competed against and trained with former professional baseball players.
