More About Coach George

I am currently an Assistant Coach at Georgetown University! Formerly, I was an assistant and the Recruiting Coordinator at alma mater Holy Cross. I work primarily with our pitchers and catchers, but have experience coaching all positions and all age groups in either camp/group settings or private lessons.

I played collegiately at the College of the Holy Cross and then went on to sign a professional contract with the Seattle Mariners. At Holy Cross, I set the all-time career record for pitching appearances at the school in addition to becoming the school’s winningest relief pitcher. I also found myself in the top 10 all-time in strikeouts and saves upon graduation. During the summers, I played for the Ocean State Waves in the NECBL and the Falmouth Commodores in the Cape Cod League. While playing professionally, I was assigned to the Arizona League affiliate in the Seattle Mariners organization.

All of my sessions begin with a baseline of figuring out where that player is at. As they are currently taking place on Zoom, I will breakdown video of you to discuss mechanics and talk through a couple easy drills. After that, I work to come up with a unique plan that will fix whatever issues they are having at that time. We will also make goals to see progress and paint that picture of what kind of athlete we want to become! We can get as creative as we need to given the fact that lessons are currently virtual. I will figure out what resources you have available and go from there. Most importantly, we will be able to discuss, in depth, a number of different areas in the game to better understand how we can be successful.

My son loved how he didn't try to change his delivery, but provide suggestions of easy changes to help prevent future injury and consistency and stressed importance of having good balance in hitting. You could see the difference immediately.
