More About Coach George

I bring a strong foundation in high-level competitive soccer, having played Division I college soccer at North Carolina State University. Following my collegiate career, I was drafted into the MLS by the San Jose Earthquakes, which gave me the opportunity to not only develop further as a professional athlete but also contribute on the coaching side. While with the Earthquakes organization, I assisted with ID clinics and summer camps, helping to train and evaluate players across various age groups.

My coaching experience includes working with athletes ranging from youth levels through to aspiring collegiate players. I’ve worked closely with both boys and girls, typically ages 10 to 18, focusing on technical development, tactical understanding, and performance mindset. My background as a Division I and professional player allows me to connect with players aiming to compete at the next level.

I’ve been fortunate to achieve success at both the junior college and Division I levels. During my time in junior college, I was named an NJCAA All-American, an honor that recognized my performance and impact on the field. That success helped pave the way for my transfer to North Carolina State University, where I competed in the ACC—one of the most competitive conferences in the country.

While at NC State, I earned a spot on the ACC Preseason Watch List, highlighting me as one of the top players to watch in the conference. Competing at the Division I level further shaped my development and prepared me for the next step, which came when I was drafted into the MLS by the San Jose Earthquakes. These experiences have not only shaped me as a player but have also provided a solid foundation for my coaching and mentorship approach today.

A client can expect each session with me to be purposeful, high-energy, and tailored to their individual goals and development stage. My focus is always on building a strong foundation first—technical consistency, tactical awareness, physical sharpness, and a professional mindset. Once that base is in place, we build from there to help the athlete take the next step in their career, whether that’s making a club team, excelling in high school or college, or preparing for the professional level.

A typical session begins with a dynamic warm-up to get the body activated and reduce the risk of injury. From there, we move into technical drills—passing, first touch, ball control, and movement off the ball. Depending on the player’s position and goals, I’ll incorporate position-specific training, game-like scenarios, and situational decision-making drills.

I emphasize quality over quantity—making sure every rep is done with purpose. Sessions also include feedback and teaching moments, so the athlete isn’t just training, but learning and growing with each session. Whether we’re fine-tuning technique or sharpening soccer IQ, every session is designed to challenge, push, and elevate the player closer to their goals.
