I am in my second season as the assistant varsity basketball coach at Chanhassen High School and 15U head coach for the Minnesota Basketball Academy AAU program. Before that, I coached one Summer season with the IAI Stunners youth basketball program in Davenport, IA. I have coached athletes as young as 3rd grade and up to high school varsity level. I typically work with high school level athletes through my current coaching position and AAU program, but have worked with grade school/middle school aged kids and aspire to train college athletes. I have a USA Basketball Gold License and registered with the NCAA Basketball Certification System.

I played four years on an athletic scholarship at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, IA. I was the starting point guard, team captain, team leader in assists and minutes, and Academic All-Conference.

A typical session with me is heavily focused on ball-handling and shooting, because those are the two main skills you need to succeed in today’s game. I like to start my sessions with a warm up, followed by ball-handling where the emphasis is control, change of speed, and change of direction. From there, I do a quick shooting warm-up focusing on form, then lay-ups, midrange, and slowly work our way out to the three point line. The more I work with an athlete, the more their workouts will be tailored to their specific strengths/weaknesses.
