More About Coach Gaati

I have been working with athletes on skill development since 2004. Even though I was in high school, I was hired by several AAU coaches as well as my peers parents to help develop their game. Since 2002 I worked with a world renowned trainer who trained athletes all of the world and worked along side of him as payment for my sessions. In the process I met and aided in training several NBA, WNBA, and international players and teams. One of the teams he worked with was the Houston Comets, I was later personally recruited by former Houston Comets 4 time MVP, Naismith Hall of Famer Player Coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke out of high school to join her collegiate team.

I was an assistant coach and personal development staff at a high school in Orlando, Florida before re-locating to Houston. I work with athletes from the age of 8 years old and over. I have trained players on all levels.

College: PVAMU
Gaati Werema is certain to be remembered as the leader of the class that helped the Prairie View women's basketball team move from perennial doormat to powerhouse in the SWAC. As part of the first complete recruiting class under former WNBA star Cynthia Cooper-Dyke, she played a major role in making Prairie View an annual contender for the SWAC crown. Werema, a native of Miami, Florida, immediately made an impact by averaging 14.4 points per game and 9.9 rebounds per game en route to being named 2007 SWAC Freshman of the Year and leading the Lady Panthers to their first SWAC regular season and tournament championship and in turn first NCAA Tournament berth. She was also named 1st Team All-SWAC and to the league's All-tournament team. The next year Werema was named as the Preseason Player of the Year and was announced to the conference's Preseason All-1st Team. Werema finished the season receiving 1st Team All-SWAC and suffered a season ending knee injury in the conference tournament semifinal game. After falling short of winning the SWAC Tournament, Werema made amends the following year by averaging 12.1 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game, leading the Lady Panthers to their third consecutive SWAC regular season title and second NCAA Tournament berth. Once again, Werema added to her trophy case, winning HSRN National Player of the Year, SWAC Tournament MVP, Conference Player of the Year Award and was selected 1st team All-SWAC. For her career, Werema has averaged 13.2 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game and 0.95 blocks per game. Werema also managed to grab over 900 rebounds during her collegiate career.

Overseas: China (Team USA); Italy, Austria, and Czech Republic (USA Travel Team); Romania (CSM Sportu); Puerto Rico (Juncos); Lebanon adn Egypt (Al-Riyadi (2 seasons))
(2 International Championships, 1 Cup Championship, 3 Tournament Championship, MVP award for Sportu, Best shooter and scorer for Al-Riydi.

I will ask the athlete to perform a series of drills including lay ups, short range shots, timed dribbling drills etc to assess the athletes skill level. Once the level is determined we will begin right away to work on improving in all areas. I am a detail oriented person so instructions on how to improve the athlete weaker points and how to strengthen the strong ones will be given. I will break down to you each part of your game and create a strategy of improvement that works best for you. The athlete will be taught how to physically execute moves as far as when and why, as well as mentally understanding how to approach or use these moves in the game time situation. The athlete will also be given information on how to preserve your body through proper techniques to reduce the possibility of injury and maintain proper nutrition.
